Aftercare

Day 1–3: Initial Healing

The tattoo will be red, swollen, and may feel like a sunburn. The skin around the tattoo may also feel warm or tender to the touch. During this phase, it’s crucial to keep the tattoo clean and moisturized to avoid infection and ensure proper healing. You may also notice some plasma or ink seeping from the tattoo. This is completely normal.

Also! Avoid soaking your tattoo in water (no swimming, hot tubs, or sauans) during this stage.

Day 4–14: Peeling and Itching

During this stage, your tattoo will start to peel and flake off as it begins to heal. The skin may feel itchy, tight, and dry. It’s essential to resist the urge to scratch, as this can cause scarring or pull ink from the tattoo. The tattoo may start to look cloudy or dull, but this is just the outer layer healing, and the color will return once fully healed.

Also! The peeling process can last up to 2 weeks.

Day 15–30: Surface Healing

By this point, the outer layers of your skin will have mostly healed. The tattoo will no longer feel tender or raw, but the deeper layers are still healing. Your tattoo might appear slightly cloudy or dull due to the healing process. It’s essential to continue moisturizing the area and protect it from the sun to prevent fading.

Also! The tattoo will appear shiny and more vibrant as the healing process finishes. Full healing may take a few months, and the tattoo will continue to settle over time.
